  • A single metro ride costs €2.50 (bus is €2). Consider buying a Navigo Day Pass for €12, valid until midnight (but excludes airports, such as RER B to Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle, Roissybus, and line 14 to Orly). Paper tickets are no longer used, so buy a €2 Navigo Easy card and load funds or download the Bonjour RATP App to phone.
  • For longer visits, Navigo Decouverte Pass (31.60€ + 5€ card) is good Monday morning to Sunday midnight on subways, buses, RER (including line B to CDG airport and line C to Versailles). You must attach a passport-size color photo to this pass or download the Bonjour RATP App to your phone.
  • Flat rate to/from Charles-de-Gaulle Airport ✈ (using RER B or Roissybus) is now 13€. Reaching Aéroport d'Orly on Metro Line 14 costs a bit more.
  • On the first Sunday of each month, the national museums in Paris — including the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay — open their doors for free. (Exception: Grand Palais)
  • Entry to the Panthéon (former church, burial place of Victor Hugo, now history museum) in Paris' Latin Quarter costs 13€ (free on first Sundays from Nov. to March). Climb 276 steps to dome for great views of Paris!
  • June and July are peak season for Paris hotels. In August, locals depart for beach towns and country houses.
  • The Marais district (former residences of the nobility) is home to Musée Carnavalet (Paris history museum), Musée National Picasso, Place des Vosges, quirky shops, and cafes.
